I see that boards deal can be purchased with a laser card, so why can't boards.ie subscriptions?

As has been explained before, it's a combination of VBulletin Payment/Subscription options only having support for PayPal and PayPal not having support for Laser.

On top of that Boards Deals was a bespoke website written with RealEx payment processing in mind which would allow it to process Laser payments (amongst the other options).

For what it's worth, it looks like laser cards are being replaced by Visa/Mastercard debit cards anyway, which will make buying online a lot easier on a lot more sites than just boards.
