Anyone recommend a good mechanic to call out to a house? I keep meaning to drop my bike down to the shop in howth but i can never find the time at the weekend, between being out on it in the morning and going places when i get back.

Call a doctor! :D (not sure if he does house-calls, but worth a try)

Doctorbike has great reviews bt not sure about collectiona nd drop off.

I believe TMG in Skerries now collects and drops off. TBH I get the missus to drop in to my LBS and LBM will load and unload for her.

I've used Doctor Bike and would recommend him

He does do a mobile service
The doctor can also provide a mobile service, doing the work at your home or even your office. Alternatively, he can collect your bike, carry out the work at his base and return it to you when he has finished. A small call out charge will apply for this service.

I think he's looking for a heart and legs transplants, which is why I would recommend Doctor Bike, as he could probably get a bike service thrown in for free :)

We're trying to get the country back on its feet again by supporting local business ;). Having said that, I tend to do all my own stuff except wheelbuilding/spoke replacement.

I don't - simple stuff yes - but anything more complicated just ends up with me going to a proper mechanic with a broken bike and a bucket of parts and asking him to put it together again.

    Thanks all.

To be honest im a) not fully competent b) short of time (due to work issues) c) lack the tools to do it myself.

To be honest i think its best to have a professional look at it.

    Is Mr. Skeffington still operating?

He had a great business going last year, lots from boards using his services.

I'd love to but dont know where to start :(

I have bought the Dummies Guide but it wasnt very useful, or maybe it is just me!

I'd need someone to show me the basics and I might be able to use the resources online after that!
