Skiping a leg on your Flight

    Hi,

Might sound a bit strange but here goes. I want to fly to Rio in August so the cheap flight is Dublin - London - Sao Paulo - Rio.

However while i'm over there I want to head to SP and meet some friends that used to live here and have gone back. So if i head to Sp i'd still need to get back to rio as my return flight from brazil would be, Rio - Sp - London - Dublin.

Can i skip the flight from Rio and Board at Sp as there is a change of planes listed. and i will already be there?

I know it might sound weird but it would be cheaper too. The round trip is 580euro and a seperate flight is 120euro rio to sp. But to do it as a multi trip all including the flight ti sp is coming in at 1200.

No. Missing a booked leg will cause the following one's to be cancelled. So if you turn up in SP having not boarded in Rio, it would be a cause of tough luck.

Adding a stopover sometimes makes a ticket very expensive. Instead, try leaving out the internal flight - book Dublin to Sao Paulo and Rio to Dublin on one ticket and then buy an internal one-way flight separately.

Thanks guys, Had a chance to pop into a travel agent today. Girl seemed a bit rushed but confirmed that skipping the first leg would cancel the full journey. Anyway best price she could come up with was about 1000 euro.

Also, your luggage would most likely continue on to Rio which wouldn't be so fun!
