3 years and no contract?

    I've been working for the same company for 3 years now and have no contract.

    I know i obviously have rights etc as a paid employee for that period of time.

    Can there be any benefits to not having a contract? I obviously cant be told to do something as it's in my contract etc :D but aside from that.

    Also what would be the major down falls?

    You're working under an 'implicit contract' where whatever terms you have been working under become binding and statutory notice periods, etc apply.
