Is it worth going up to get fitted for Ski boots or would only the bad stuff be left now. I'm a 3 hour drive away from them...

The more I compare blue tomato with different companies(especially UK ones) the more overpriced they start to look. 80 euros for a hoodie yea, right.

Hell they've got K2 Cinchs for 200 euros you can get them for 160(180 euros) in the UK and I've seen plenty on sale for far cheaper.

Personally I'd never buy any board/ski equipment in this country. Either online or abroad is the way to go.

I think you always have to buy boots in a store. Ive known people who have gone abroad to get them at the start of a holiday and found very little value.

If you know what you're lookin for or have a friend who can tell you, then it's simple to just buy them online. I bought my boots in Whistler though.

Lenmeister; pretty much all ski & board hardwear is currently cheaper in the UK and Ireland as the distributors are taking the hits on the exchange rates and the prices are about 10 -15% cheaper than the continent.

A few of the shops in Ireland are now doing top end boot fitting and advice but then again one or two of them are so bad it is not funny

Haha, seems well worth getting the boots so :) Hmm maybe I should check a few stores out so but in my experience Ireland have always had sky high prices for snow gear. Where do you get your stuff?

Lenmeister; I do some work for a ski hardware provider and am a qualified instructor so tend to by my gear via deals and trade shows I get to attend :D:D:D. I would agree that in the past it has been quite expensive but now there are 3 stores in Dublin and Mac Ski in Belfast doing good Sale deals.

Snow & Rock have a price guarantee and two really good boot fitters Dan & cant think of hte 2nd lads name some of the stuff is pricey but during the sales all bets are off and you can haggle!

Neil in Great Outdoors is a really good boot guy and again during the sale they are knocking an awful lot of kit.

53 are a nightmare avoid like the plague for hardwear but again some good software on sale at the moment.

Ahh ye jammy wammy ye, nice to attend all the trade shows alright. Ya 53 Degrees I went out there went it 1st opened and couldn't believe the price of stuff. Went out again a few years later and hadn't changed. Great Outdoors I've always found to be a bit of a rip to be perfectly honest. Haven't heard of the other places you mentioned though. I'm glad I have all my gear, all I need is a good holiday or another Canadian visa, please God :)
