Does anybody have 1 of these for sale or knows where i can buy direct...i dont really wanna buy offline..if i had no choice i could buy a new 1 for E86 delivered from england..

What does the Openbox S9 do? Would it be possible to get the USB port to get Saorview? Can it get the Freeview EPG?

Not sure if it is worth investigating.

Only a novice here with regards to the Sat business..So I know nothing about Openbox.

Openbox is a basic HD fta sat box, the USB is for connecting an external hard drive for recording. Epg is now and next only as with most fta receivers. You won't get saorview or freeview either.

I am not interested in cardsharing, whatever that is. What I am looking for is a FTA box that will do S2 so that I can receive C4HD and the other HD channels from Astra 2D. It would be great if the USB could support a DVB-T1 tuner to receive Saorview. I understand the box supports MHEG 5, is that so? Does it support BBC interactive (Red Button)?

It looks promising, but I would like to know more.

A Sky HD box will do all you want above apart from the Saorview bit. Even if it was paired to an Irish Sky card, all you'd need to do is insert a FTV UK card and the UK epg with channel 4 HD etc will load onto it, you'd also have Channel Five on the EPG along with the bonus of Channel Five HD, Five*, Five US, Pick TV, Liverpool TV, Viva and possibly one or 2 others.
Failing that even an old expired blue UK card will still load the UK EPG with FTA Channel 4 HD on it.
You probably know most of that anyway and apologies if you do, i just thought it might be handy info for anyone else reading the thread

Dm800hd you can add a usb tuner to it...

You can do the same to a Vu...

Plenty posts about with info on how its done!

Basically any linux based box!
