Not happy with new lenses

I got new glasses today. The last few months I've noticed when driving that I have to be up much closer to signposts to be able to read them. It's a lot more noticeable so I presumed it was time to get stronger lenses. I had my test last week at Specsavers in Swords and the optician said they hadn't gotten that much worse. I didn't think much of this but today when I got the glasses back there is no difference whatsoever compared to my old glasses. I've been swapping them back and forth and they're the exact same. He said it would take a few days to get used to the new lenses but I know my own eyes, I still can't see signposts, surely that would have been rectified straight away if my prescription was right?

Where do I stand with this, will I leave it for a few days to see? There's no change whatsoever from what I can see so I don't see how that can change in a couple of days. Will they do a retest again for free and if it's changed from the last one will I get all of this for free or will I have to pay again does anyone know? Before I ring them I'd like to know how this is dealt with usually in case they tell me otherwise. Thanks.

Had my second year retest last month, my perscription changed .25 in one eye ( i knew there was a change, thought it would have been more ) They reglazed my 2 pairs of glass'es, and when i tried them on, everything blured:eek: I was told that it might take a day or 2 for my eyes to adjust, but was sound after about an hour:)

They might have made a mistake with your perscription, made up new lense's to your old perscription? I'd go back and complain.

Thanks. I went back on Friday and a different optician diagnosed the exact same prescription? She was as baffled as me....I don't know what to do. I know I can't see as well as I used to....I had my friend in the car today and she was testing me on how far back I could see signposts from, she could see them way further back than I could. I had to be up really close. And she doesn't even have perfect eyesight. So I'm not just imagining it.

The optician said my eyes are perfectly healthy so there's nothing wrong there. Should I just go to a local optician now and see what they think? I really don't understand how they think I have the perfect glasses for me when I can't see well at all with them :(
