I did, just last May for a week honeymoon around the Med and I have to say IT WAS AWESOOOOOOOOMMME!

Do's: When u first book - go on the Royal C website and book yr excursions beforehand - they fill up quick - also buy any packages you need at the same time :)
Every show that is available - they all rocked!
Go on the excursions, they were well worth it and we enjoyed them.
Go to the welcome night - free champagne!
The fancy breakfast - you have to get up earlier but it is so yummmmy
spend time walking around the ship - we found a cinema and games
    room noone knew about!
Get the photos that come at the first formal and last formal dinner-
    really lovely photos
Talk to staff about any problems - they are so lovely and helpful,
nothing is a problem to them and I even made facebook friends with
    some! :)
(this is from my hubby- who is a savage) pretend to hum and haw
between dishes at dinner and they'll bring u out both to try! Mad! It's
because every night is a different menu and won't be round again - THE FOOD IS DIVINE BTW.
Tell them yr on honeymoon - free champagne made it's way to our room on the last night :)

Don't: Buy the drinks packages - there really is no need and water/drinks are pretty cheap anyway
Don't feel you have to stay in the restaurant allocated for yr meal (you get allocated a restaurant with yr boarding card)- we made friends and sat with them every night.
Do NOT buy yr gifts onboard until the last night - everything goes on
    sale! Diamonds oooooooo!
Beauty packages all go on sale day before too! (also worth noting it's
all American prices - so cheap anyway)

Awwwww I wanna go again - loved it so much! Have a fab time! So jealous :)

Went on a cruise around Halloween last year, I can't stress how brilliant it was! The ship (Explorer of the Seas) itself is out of this world, proper luxury hotel on water. It had 4 pools, basketball court, arcade, gym, spa, ice rink, rock climbing, too many bars to count (actually I'd say about 10) night club, casino, restaurants and lots of little things like ben and jerry stands, little clothes shops with stuff like Billabong, a jewellers, a GP, pharmacy and 3 nurses, a theatre, cinema, card room, jazz club, music room with piano, guitars etc

We had a balcony which was great - a must have I think, well worth the extra money. We went from New Jersey to the Caribbean so we had 3 full days sailing, 4 days in the islands and then 3 days back. We stopped in Haiti (not very nice, Royal Caribbean have a private resort here which is totally off limits to the Haitians, the place itself is gorgeous but you feel like such a horrible person), next was Dominican Republic, then we stopped in St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands, it's so high brow its crazy, then St Kitts in British Virgin Islands. There are 300,000 monkeys on the island and only 100,000 people!

St Thomas and St Kitts were my favourite, we did snorkeling and went on an underwater moped on the excursions and the shopping is amazing especially for diamonds!

The ship has great night life, the pubs and bars were really busy. The casino is where we spent most nights ... I'm not a big drinker but there was no shortage of things to do in the evening.

I'd be on a cruise again in a heartbeat :)

    1. Definately get up early for the formal breakfast in the dining room, so worth it
    2. Go to all the shows/events, they're really well done
    3. Shopping on the last night - much better value
    4. I wouldn't personally book the excursions before hand - we had no issue booking on board and you can plan much better I think when you're there
    5. Always get your photo taken when they set up - You're under no obligation to buy
    6. We were on a set table for dinner which at first I didn't like but we met some really lovely people and it forces you in interact. We had a honeymoon couple and 2 mental older couples from New Jersey who were hilarious
    7. +1 on not buing the drinks packages, they're not really worth it cause its pretty cheap on board anyway
    8. Go to the shopping talks that go through the shopping on each island - they can be a bit tedious cause it's obviously a sales pitch but you get vouchers for free stuff at certain shops on land
    9. Don't try to do everything - you'll miss the best part of the cruise :) Complete wind down ahhhhhhhh
    10. Get up early some mornings and watch the sun rises and watch the sun sets in the evening, they're spectacular

I hadn't intended in going into so much details but it was just such an amazing experience waking up to either the most beautiful islands every morning or just seeing the sea for miles - I could talk about it for days! Of course there is the risk of hurricanes ... we were chased by Hurricane Thomas for 4 days but it wasn't too bad.

    its seriously worth it.

we were a little nervous booking and half expecting it to be full of the old foggies but it was completely the opposite. we went on Liberty of the Seas which is the same as explorer above. its pure luxury and the service is immense, they can not do enough for you.

we did buy a drinks package for one person, we felt it was handy for getting a drink of sprite or coke while at the pool or having a slice of pizza etc. ony 30 dollars or something for the week so well worth it, we felt.

excursions are brilliant, do as many as you can afford cos you will really remember them.

beware though, i think i put on about a stone over the week i was there. they absolutely fill you with food wherever you go and its all included in the price which is dangerous.

Just say you buy a drinks package for one person, whats to stop your other half having a drink of yours?

Is it frowned upon? Are they watching for this? Is there a limit to what you can drink?

Nah, they don't care, Americans were buying me and hubby drinks on their card all holiday. Don't worry about it :)
