Was just in the €URO2 shop on Eglington Street in Galway, and they had an iPad/iPhone Dock knockoff, looks exactly the same as the official one, for €2.

Seems like a pretty good deal.

They also had iPad wipes for the same price.

Sorry for the complete noob question but what does this do?:) Does it charge the ipod/ipad?

You plug in the sync cable to the back, and you can charge & sync your iPad on your computer, or charge it from the wall.

EDIT: You can also plug in a 3.5mm Audio Cable and output the audio to some PC speakers. So really, pick up this and some cheap PC speakers from Argos, and you have a decent audio dock for a nice price.

cant see the need for ipad specific wipes, wouldn't any screen wipes work?

Sweet find OP gonna try get one of these tomorrow, is it working ok for you?

I got one of these last week for the girlfriend's iPhone 4. Fits OK but she has to take it out of the shock-proof case she has. I have no idea what the ridge is for in the middle. thought it was a rest but the connector on the bottom holds it up. Maybe for larger iPods.

Haha, theres something wrong with the power here, all 5 bulbs were replaced 2 months ago.

And, tbh, its too feckin' bright with 5 bulbs :P

Hopefully they have some left when I'm in Galway next week. Does it work with the iPhone 4?

Of course not, the iPad is based on MacOS.
The other wipes only work on windows. .................................................................................. :D

I know, but really, they're actually pretty good, most wipes leave the screen wet, these evaporate quickly.

    .
But it doesn't DO anything! If you don't buy it, the instructions are almost exactly the same:

You plug in the sync cable to the back bottom, and you can charge & sync your iPad on your computer, or charge it from the wall.

Yeah, does this do anything that the sync cable doesn't do?

Saw these in Donegal Town branch yesterday so they're probably available nationwide.

It displays your iPad/iPod at the optimum angle so that visitors can see you have one. :D

    Allows you to output audio.

It's for convenience really. Instead of rummaging around for your cable, you can just have it sitting on your desk.

I got mine in the €2 shop on George's St Dublin.

It doesn't add functionality to your iPod, but it looks a lot better on your desk than two loose cables. And instead of plugging two cables in at either end or your iPod when at your desk or your stereo, you just sit it in this. It's perfect for watching video on an iPod classic as well, as it gives a good viewing angle.

What is this like for charging an ipad...it looks a bit small

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,533 ✭✭✭Daniel S

I got one of these a few weeks ago aswell as an iPhone 3G case and HDMI cable for €6. They're all working just fine still :D

It's the exact same size as the official one. It would be pretty hard to tell them apart tbh.

You would be better off going to Hardly Normal and buying MONSTER screen cleaner it's only €30 and you get a reusable lint free non scratching cloth. I posted this deal on BA months ago ;)

One thing about this is that when you get text messages it doesn't play any alert sound so you have to keep your eye on the phone. It will ring when you have an incoming call but won't for texts.

I bought this and its great to use as a stand.

Especially if you are cooking etc. Havent plugged it in yet and doubt I probably will ever.
