Hey everyone! Would anyone know where to order a matte lacquer spary for irish delivery? Not strictly for a miniature piece but the same type of material in use. Thanks

I picked up a can of Humbrol Matte spray from Gamersworld recently. It's great, dries quickly and is properly matte. Worth a look.

I got the same stuff myself, didn't like it at all. Dulled the paint down way too much and left a very slight chalky residue, strong solvent smell too.

I bought some Windsor & Newton Galeria Satin Varnish in K&M Evans the next day. Its fantastic undiluted for a slight sheen (used it on nids to good effect), and goes near matt when diluted.

You shouldn't limit yourself to hobby products exclusively, there are much better art supplies to be found for the same price.

I've tried their matte but it wasn't matte enough:confused: When I take photos of the minis there was a slight sheen which was very annoying. I've tried different brands of matte varnish and found the Humbrol to give the most matte covering. The Plasti Cote ones really, really, really, stink and there is still a slight shine.

You're right about not limiting yourself to hobby products, I use the W+N matte acrylic medium and their brushes. You get much more "bang for your buck" and also often a better quality product. I also use their and Daler Rowney inks, both of which are excellent.

I picked up an Army Painter one (at least I think it is, I didn't pay too much attention to the name!) in Gamersworld last week, it's nice light stuff and not too shiny. Tenner for a big can of the stuff!
