Well done on getting that amount of advertising! I had read the article in the IT on wicklow deer, but had not seen the ones on the other crimes.

I cannot see why shooting/fishing mags always include recipies; anybody interested enough has their own cookbooks or more than a general idea of what to do with what they shoot/catch. As for the fox recipie, it would have been best held over to the April edition!!

Ya you might be right about the fox recipie i read another one that you have to have it under runing water for 3 days before cooking! Why bother? As for the other recipies you'll be amazed at the amount of people that only cook their catch one way. You'll see from some of the posts here on boards that alot of people don't know what is the best way to prepare and cook different recipies. Few of us myself included are as good a cook as mallards or some of the others at let us see their mouth watering meals from shot game. Every ones different i suppose.

    Thanks for your feed back.

Three days would be about the minimum for fox, but the water would have to be fast-running. Very rank meat. Seagull is similar, but cormorant is a lot worse! If you want a regular feature of that type of recipe, I will volunteer a few recipes! Bear leg with Burgundy, or Camel with Aubergine & Yoghurt, or Whale with Mushroom & Cauliflower.
    Feeling hungry?:D

Given the recent interest in shooting mountain goats, (Tack, TraumaDoc et al) I will do one on Kid Goat... with a story.
Unless of course you do want one for Bear Leg Bourgignonne?
    Deadline date?
