Kings alum Chris Egan is going from playing a rich man to a Poe man, as the titular sleuth in an ABC pilot set in 1840s Boston. Tabrett Bethell (The Legend of the Seeker) has been cast as Poe’s muse.

Natalie Dormer has signed up for a lead role in ABC pilot Poe.
The project will portray Edgar Allan Poe (Chris Egan) as a crime fighter living in Boston during the 1840s.
Entertainment Weekly now reports that Dormer will play a newspaper journalist who teams up with Poe.
The actress is best known for playing Anne Boleyn in The Tudors and currently stars in BBC One legal drama Silk. She will also appear in the forthcoming Captain America film.
Kevin McNally previously signed up to play the tough and authoritative Commissioner Kyle Kilpatrick in the Poe pilot, while Leslie Odom Jr. will appear as Julian 'Jupiter' Noble, a doctor who assists the title character.

I liked Egan in Kings (very underrated show imo) hopefully this does well and gets a season pick up
