That's actually not bad for your needs.....
    CPU and Memory:
    • Triple core N830.
    • 2.1GHz processor speed.
    • 3GB DDR3 RAM memory.
    • 250GB SATA hard drive.
    Display features:
    • 15.6in display.
    • Resolution 1366 x 768 pixels.
    DVD optical drives:
    • Dual layer.
    Graphics:
    • ATI Radeon HD 4250 graphics card with 256MB memory.
    Interfaces and connectivity:
    • Multi-Media Card (MMC) compatible.
    • 3 USB ports.
    • 1 HDMI port.
    • B/g/n wireless/WiFi enabled.
    Multi-media features:
    • 1.3MP built-in webcam.
    • Built-in mic.
    Operating system and software:
    • Microsoft Windows 7 Premium.
The Processor is rated higher than an i3 330, the only thing I don't like is the brand, emachines. There's nothing really better in Argos in your budget without going back to Intel graphics.

Are you gonna be watching high def films on it?

This is a good one if your willing to buy online and up your budget by €35ish euro. Saveonlaptops.co.uk--->Acer.

Thanks masterofthebra, I think I'll give it a go. As long as it doesn't have a breakdown after 5 minutes like my last one I'll be happy. I'm going to be using it as a desktop replacement basically. I've had emachines products before, I had a desktop from them a few years ago, I gave it to my sister and its still working fine. If I get 2 years out of this I'll be happy. Probabaly won't be watching any hi-def on this either, I'll just use my blu-ray player.

I just found this one, what do you think?

I can see where your coming from wanting to buy in a bricks and Mortar shop but they can be alot worse than online if you have a problem. You may want to read this bout Argos. Or a Currys one.

Your not gaming or playing HD so either of those lappys will do you fine.

Here is another Argos one within budget with 4GB of RAM but you lose 1 USB port, the HDMI port (This is for connecting to a TV amoung other things) and the webcam is lower spec.

Delivered and dispatched by Amazon. Never seen anyone knock them.

Also interested in buying this laptop, was going to go for the Toshiba C660 but it doesn't have hdmi.

The emachines laptop seems to be the best one around that price with hdmi, unless anyone else has any other recommendations?

I got this one on Saturday. So far very impressed with it, HD connection looks great on a big screen. Very fast too.
