    down to 2 now

    from ATR

Ian Williams has still to make a final decision as to Weird Al's Cheltenham Festival target.

Williams took his promising gelding out of the Stewart Family Spinal Research Handicap Chase on Tuesday's card and is left to decide between the Ryanair Chase and the totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup later in the week.

Weird Al won all three of his starts as a novice chaser last season, including twice at Prestbury Park at the end of 2009. He dead-heated with Little Josh in October at Carlisle on his return from an injury but was last seen finishing eighth in the Hennessy Gold Cup.

"I haven't had a chance to talk to the owners yet," said the Alvechurch handler.

"I don't really want to mislead anyone, so I'll have to talk to them and then make a decision."

Very very very appealing at 25/1, goes well fresh, good Cheltenham record, trainer has 36% strike rate at Cheltenham and has a current strike rate of over 55%.
