Getting close to married guy at work

I broke up with my boyfriend a couple of years back and have not been seeing anyone since. I dont trust guys and find it hard to get to know them as I have not been out with many people in my lifetime. The reason I became close to this guy is that I did not see him as a threat because he was married and and just behaved naturally.

I have noticed a bit of chemistry between us. From my side, I am attracted to him and if he were single, would definitely go for him, but can say 100% will not cross the boundary. From his side, I did not think he felt the attraction, but a couple of small things recently lead me to believe it is mutual.

Nothing will happen from this, but I still feel bad about it. In a way, I dont want it to stop, because I love talking to him and if I am honest, I am enjoying the banter between us. I told my friend about it and she told me to relax and enjoy it for what it is - a harmless flirtation.

Am I reading to much into it?

So long as you can keep it as harmless flirtation, and it really must be harmless, then there's no real issue.

I've always been called a flirt, even though it's never intentional, but I've never let it interfere with an actual relationship I've been in. All kinds of bad stuff can happen if one of you takes it a bit too seriously.

Yes. And don't take things any further for a whole host of reasons.

Keep it friendly and platonic and leave it at that.

Thanks....couple more things happened today though that indicate it is hotting up a bit.....think it is time to cool it a bit instead of it all ending in tears.

Good friend and would hate to lose that.

You should indicate to him subtly that you would never get involved with a married man but see no problem being friends with one as long as everyone is aware of the boundaries. I wonder does his wife know what a good friendship you have.

    Hi OP

What happened yesterday to make you think things were hotting up?
