Just reading the Evening Herald tonight and found out that David Coffey the creator and star of Dan and Becks is in talks of remaking the show in the U.S.

First off i've never seen the show but have heard bad things about it, So anyone who has seen it tell me is this the wrong show to buy the rights for or is it a worth while effort for the American Tv studios to buy the rights too?

i.e i spelt Becs wrong sorry

It was actually a good show and a cute idea, albeit one that doesn't have huge legs in terms of what you can do with it. How they'll be able to parlay a 10 minute short series into a 21 minute comedy and keep anything of the style of the original is beyond me, but I'm very interested to see.

Dan and Becs was ok. Very funny at times, but fell down at others. The other version, based in Tallaght, was hillarious.

The concept is so simple, it could be transfered anywhere. If they keep it the same length, then it could do really well. If they try and pad it out to a half hour show, then it could fall on it's arse.

I really hope it gets the go ahead and does well. Despite Irelands reputation as begrudgers, it's always nice to see a local boy do good. :)

I liked Dan and Becs - simple concept, well written and entertaining...
Don't know if it'll translate well to the US though.

i think it will, you dont need to limit it to 2 people.

you can 2/3 relationships in it and give them air time, Mindy and DeShawn from LA

    Vinny and Monica from Queens

Hick and Carol from swamps in Louisiana for example

I thought Sarah and Steve was better than Dan and Becs, the characters were a little less cartoonish and the acting was better.

Sarah was nice but i'd be more inclined to go for Becs, but Sarah and Steve was better than Dan and Becs though

I just watched a few parts on youtube and must admit i found the Working Class version i.e Tallaght version was far funnier and had more heart then Dan and Becs. I think they could a good half hour comedy on a upper class couple and a working class one join both series together.

Becs was hot but did anyone else feel she wasn't that great of a actress the girl who played her.

I agree Sarah and Steve just had better chemstry and were far better actors then Dan and Bec's.
