Hello just received a radio that I bought on the net and went about an ole DIY job on installing it, but, found that the connections were not standard (naive of me I know). Just wondering if anyone has any advice on what I should do now? I'm a bit clueless on this topic as I'm sure you have realised.

    Thanks in advance

if the connections aren't a direct swap, then you may need an ISO lead to make your radios connections match your cars wiring loom. these are around 10-15 euro in most motor factors.

what car are you putting it in? did you get any wiring with the stereo?

ISO lead (thats a new one for me). Just googled it there, thats exactly what I need to do. Is it easy enough to wire these?

I'm putting it into a toyota corolla. No leads or ISO adapters came with the radio. It was fairly cheap to be honest, just got it for the auxiliary in, so i can connect my ipod.

Where would be the best place to get one of these ISO adaptors?

I got the connection adapter for about 5 euro from ebay but if you're in a hurry then check a few factors, as suggested.

Perhaps tell us the make/model of the radio and the make/model/year of the car and a more accurate answer might be forthcoming :)

Modern radio units are built with a standard ISO connector at the rear but cars built before this era might not have this connector, they also might not have the standard MALE antenna connector. Sony stereos require an adaptor to suit the standard antenna cable.
