I'm looking at a '04 lancer and have one or two questions before I get someone to look at it properly.

timing belt needs doing, how much do they normally cost?

when I unscrew the oil cap with engine running there's a slight bit of suction, is this ok?

while driving there's a bit of a squeak from the rear passenger wheel area, i know this one's hard to say without hearing it but, might this be shocks and or a serious issue?

    Thanks....

On the 1.3/1.6 engine the timing belt should be about €300 to change(thats what we would charge anyway) The water pump doesn't run off the timing belt so doesn't need to be changed at the same time.

Some pressure at the oil cap is normal.

On the lancer its highly unlikely that the squeek would be anything serious. A bush that needs greasing/replaceing perhaps.
