I'm meant to be heading up to Navan on Saturday, does anyone know of any buses going from Tullamore or Kilbeggan that will take me directly to Navan? I was searching on google but can't seem to find any, or anyone know the best way to get there by bus? Any info/links etc would be great.

    cheers.

I don't believe there is - the only option is via Dublin. The Bus Eireann service (route 70) through Kilbeggan only operates through to Navan on Fridays and Sundays.

Thanks for the reply, so I'm going to have to go to Dublin first and then Navan from there? How long would that take roughly and is there a bus from Mullingar to Navan?

You can buy a through ticket from either Kilbeggan or Tullamore to Navan on www.buseireann.ie.

Time - Well the 20 takes 90 minutes to get from Kilbeggan to Dublin every 2 hours (timetable here), and the 109 (every 30 minutes) then takes 1 hour 5 minutes to Navan (timetable here) with a 10 minute connection at Busaras.

Use the journey planner here, although bear in mind that the journey planner thinks 10 minutes is too tight to make a connection at Busaras.

Fare is EUR 13.50 single and EUR 18 return if booked online.

The bus from Mullingar to Navan is route 70 - the same as Kilbeggan I'm afraid and operates only on Friday and Sunday to cater for students - the timetable is here.

There is no other cross-country service that far south.

Sorry if I sound stupid now, I don't travel by bus very often, well never really but what exactly is a "through ticket" and is there definitely no bus from Kilbeggan or Tullamore on a Saturday? I was looking at the timetable you had in your last message, I thought it said there was a bus from Kilbeggan to Navan at 15.10 on Saturday. I could be reading it wrong though, not very good at this kind of stuff. :o

    1) You can buy one ticket online for the journey from Kilbeggan to Navan even though it involves two buses. That's what I meant.

    2) No there is no bus from Kilbeggan to Navan on Saturday. That bus that you quote has "FO" at the top of the column - at the bottom of the page it says FO=Friday only

Your only option is via Busaras. Full stop.

No - that route picks up only in Navan - as denoted by the letter "P" beside the times at Navan, which is fully explained by a footnote at the bottom of the page.

I've already given you the timetables that you need for the trip from Kilbeggan to Navan in post 4 above!!!

    But here they are again.

Route 20 from Kilbeggan to Dublin and route 109 from Dublin to Navan.

They are the only routes that do that trip on Saturdays.
