I had sky installed years ago in an old house and had to get holes drilled to bring it in even though i had tv points everywhere? At present I'm using a upc aerial on the roof and am thinking of switching to sky ,the aerial runs into my attic and is split to the cables for the tv points , what i would like to know is it possible to get my sky set up like this ?

You can't split a satellite cable, installers prefer a straight run from the dish to the box to guarantee signal quality.Sky supply Sky+ boxes now as standard which use 2 cables-your tv point only has one cable running to it.
It has also been discussed here before that cables prewired into houses for tv tend to be of a poorer quality than what is needed.
My house was prewired but I got the cables run direct from the dish to the box through the wall beside the tv point as I knew what I was getting rather than depending on a cable run which could have been damaged or inferior quality.
