Do dealers from the same marque (eg. Opel) trade second hand stock?

As in, if there's a local Opel dealership you've happily bought from and had your car serviced with for the last few years, would they be willing to bring in a car you've seen at another Opel dealership in Ireland?

Or is that a ridiculous question....

It really depends on the dealer and stock in question but generally dealers have traded stock between each other. For example I have seen a Toyota dealer trade Opels to the local Opel dealer and vice versa. There maybe a shortage of that particular car at that franchised dealer but they have a regular customer like you who wants one but doesn't want to deal with another garage.

Best thing to do is contact the dealer in question and see what they say, I'd imagine they would be keen on your business and will look into it if it is viable for them.
