Raft foundation + cold weather

Getting a 6 x 9 meter raft for an extension poured (hopefully) early next week. Forecast isn't looking good with a cold snap predicted for the next couple of weeks (including a white Paddy's Day) :-(
Could the cold weather have adverse effects on the foundation and what measures can be done to prevent them?

    Don't do it.
Seriously wait till the threat of freezing weather has gone. Frost can seriously damage a slab.

Absolute minimum ambient shaded temperature to be 3 degrees and rising. Even at that you will want frost blankets covering the concrete for minimum 24 hours.

All depends on your concrete strengths. You need a concrete strength of 5N/mm sq for concrete to be able to withstand the forces associated with expansion of freezing moisture - and you're not going to achieve 5N/mm sq within the first 24 hours.

Simple solution - don't pour now. The last thing you want is an issue with a raft foundation - they can be a disaster at the best of times due to rotation/differential settlement. No doubt your structural engineer can provide best project specific advice with regard to cold weather pouring.
