Leaving one course for another??

I am currently in third year of a level 8 course, but I dont think this is the area I want to work in anymore. There is an exit system with our course so I can leave after this year with a level 7 ordinary degree. If I go to apply for a level 8 next year will I get a grant or fees paid seeing as its a 'step up'? Also would…
