How much would someone like Digweed cost for a set?

    As per title.

How much would he be, or someone of that stature, and would you have to provide flight and accommodation separate to the fee?

Don't worry, I'm not some rich arab looking for a private set for my birthday or anything :p

    Just something I've often wondered.

too fcuking much!! the whole scene is a sham with everyone creaming as much as possible from punters entrance fees, just so you know diggers would by no means pay for his own flights, accommodation and meals/drinks while his here so ya would have to add that to the large fee

also best of luck trying to book him outside of tripod then too, scummy cnuts have exclusive deals done with anyone worth their weight

Pretty much everything you just said there is bull****.

What touring DJ do you know of who pays his own expenses?

There are loads of quality promotions around Ireland putting on quality nights for 10 euro or less.

Digweed has played Tripod/Redbox annually for over 10 years, dry your eyes.

I never said he would pay his own expenses and please point me to the promoters putting big names on outside of Dublin that have nothing to do with a certain promoter!!

    Have you not migrated already?

"just so you know diggers would by no means pay for his own flights, accommodation and meals/drinks while his here so ya would have to add that to the large fee"

There. That's exactly where you implied that he should be paying his own expenses. Unless of course you were just trying to look knowledgeable about something anyone with a mixmag subscription would know.

As for promoters putting on big names outside Dublin.

Have a look at the line ups for the Pavillion in Cork, or Stiff Kitten/Shine in Belfast. They have international acts regularly.

Or you could stop being one of the herd and go check out the dozens of quality nights being run all over the country by people who actually have a passion for what they do.

Apart from that, thinking a big name to pull a proper crowd in a small town is another fantasy on your part.

Whoa up there on the arguments I think you'll find he meant that no DJ pays their own expenses

I have more of an education on these matters than most (maybe not your good self I won't insult you seeing as how I don't know you but will instead give you the benefit of the doubt) and also how them sneaky fcuks work!

I'm sure they are getting a lot less than what they used to. Judge Jules said he was paid 100,000k+ for NYE nights in the late 90's / Y2K era , that would be sets in various clubs, flying between each, probably finishing last set 6-9am or so in London this was when the same DJ's just rotated on big nights between Cream, gatecrasher and the like. Someone like Oakenfold would no longer have the same credibility he used to imo, but i'd say he'd still command a huge fee, where there is still demand.
