ya it was not easy to make money in rosgrea on monday, i thought it started slow and there was a few bulls sold for small money, i had to leave it at 3 as the boss man had a meeting that could not be missed, greenhill emperor sold for €8,200 i find it hard to work out why he is a hard bull on cows but im far from an expert, enjoyable day all the same.

Report is up on the Limousin website now. Looks like SBV€ was a major factor for choice of bull. €3100 average price - you'd want to get it for putting a bull that far.

Some great stock on show in roscrea today. Big money paid for a few bulls. A bull I picked out as a winner in local show made 12,200. A foreman son. Another ampertaine bull (Elgin) sire the junior champ.

I was there. Arrived before the start and all the catalogues were gone.
Serious trade with a huge crowd. The bad weather helped, I guess. Crazy to see a bul being bid from 3 right up to 14k.

Wasn't there but saw the updates on Twitter.... prices from 1900-9500 so it seems. Lots of bulls sold in the 2500-4000 range. Drummin Jameson ET was Junior Champ and sold for 9500

Vantastic X Mas Du Clo breeding. I see he's in the bottom 2 % of the breed for calving.
Am I a fool trying to keep the breeding in the few I have, along easy calving lines?

Well if there is a market there for your stock then that'll give you the answer! There's a focus on hard calving bulls but does that necessarily transpire into the bulls progeny being hard calving too? You would think so but how much emphasis is paid to it......
