theres always Oakleys, but as any speccy (me) would know, they are mad money

Rudy Project do ones, i have them, but have yet to get the prescription lens though, i think their called the Rydons, there's a little lens that clips in behind the shaded ones, i think the cost of the lens, plus getting them to your prescription works out at about €100, oh, thats on top of the actual glasses that are about €100 as well, so €200 all in, but still alot cheaper than Oakleys

the cyclesuperstore and wheelworx do Ruby Project glasses, plus im sure other places do to

    If you have your prescription

I go a pair of (now discontinued) Salice with a RX Insert and 3 x lenses similar to http://gosportsspex.co.uk/BBBPowerViewSportsGlasses.asp

    Do the job grand.

I don't like the inserts myself - it's far too easy for sweat to get between it and the glasses

Optilabs have a very good selection that do not need inserts

I wanted something fairly cheap so I got this http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=36720 and I am going today to specsavers to get the prescription on. Along with another pair of glasses it will cost me 100euro, which is not too bad.

Thanks for the options. I see that Optilabs one will send out a sample of frames so you can try before you buy. I like that idea. Will see how I get on with them.

Hi AstraMonti, whats the deal with specsavers on this and how do the costs work out? John

They're similar to the ones I have. I got mine from Stagg in Lucan and got the lenses in an opticians. The ones I got came with three clipins - clear, blue and yellow.

They have a deal at the moment that you pay for 1 pair of glasses and you get another one for free. I called them yesterday and explained that I have cycling glasses that need prescription. I also told them that I need a pair of normal glasses and instead of getting a second free, if I can put the lenses on the cycling glasses. They didn't seem to have any problems with this so I booked an appointment for today to have my eyes tested (15euros) and hopefully all it will cost me will be 89+15euros for a new pair of glasses and lenses for the cycling ones.

Look like good value which vision express? Have been in one in galway looking at glasses and the only wrap around ones they had are oakley. Was considering going with the armour ones from CRC Astamonti recommended but these look better with out the inserts. They are polycarbonate lenses? Having prescription lenses you can change would certainly be handy. See they're 3M safety glasses but there is no mention of them on the vision express website.

3M is correct, they are sold as a brand called Peltor. V.Ex have them in their sports glasses catalogue in the shops. The shop in Cork (like) ordered them in on approval, I approved. Tried in the Dublin shop but they couldn't be bothered ordering them for me to try out.

They aren't poly carb, they woman in the shop said they'd see could I have poly carb lenses; a little more expensive. They seem tough enough considering they seem to use them for shooting in the states where they are called "tactical glasses"...

Fit overs ( sunglasses that fit over prescription spectacles ) are an option too......I use a pair of Vistana.
