    Hi,

Just wondering if any small business owners have found facebook to be a growning problem in their workplace.

I have found it to be a problem here. Seems people are more pre-occupied in their social network than doing some work.

Looks like I am going to have to block in on the computers.

Just wondering what other measures people have taken other than blocking it?

    Regards,

block it and watch your employee's moan and hate you:D

happened in my job,at least try asking them not to use it during busy times, also if you do block it they will simply use phones to access it keep an eye out:pac:

    Facebook isn't the problem.
If you blocked the site, they'd be on boards or amazon or ebay or outside drinking coffee. There is always something else to do

Maybe they aren't being challenged and need more of a workload so get a big stick
Ask them if they have new ideas and want to take ownership of something new :)

They block a lot of web sites in my job but open them back up for lunch 12.30-14.00. It might be an idea to try that first.

How could there be something "urgent" to do on Facebook

I'd say ask them to ease off and if that doesn't to the trick then block it and the anon portals as they will be the easy way round it being blocked...

just straight out ban it, and if the employee is caught on social network sites other then linkedin they get fired. a lot of people are addicted to facebook and it eats up half their day!
