Non Hybrid Prius?

I saw what appeared to be a Prius Mark1 in Wicklow town today but it wasn't a Prius Mark 1 Hybrid if that makes any sense?

It was the same body with a slightly different front and rear light cluster. Anyone know what it was?

That must of been the case.
I've never heard of any car being based on it and always assumed the car was developed solely as a hybrid?

I think it was a 1999/2000 reg on it. I was driving passed and had to glance a second time at it.

The difference were the rear light cluster, the front bonnet and headlights. The headlights were smaller and the bonnet came down further. After that it was all the same

I'd say it's one of these hideous looking beasts:

The front and side profile are both different

I'm stumped by this one and it seems everyone else is too.

If anyone is around Wicklow can you try and keep and eye out for the car and spot what it is?
