if you're a watcher or fan of the channel this might interest you + it also means ABCF is getting closer and closer to directly competing against The CW in schedule and programming, eventually i see them programming Monday-Thursday with repeats on Friday and weekends.

This is a pretty big development for the little cable channel that could, year-on-year ABCF has seen expansion and growth in viewership and programming, since 2005 many of it's original programming is beating out CW in all key demos + garnering more attention from viewers and industry types, so as a fan of the channel i welcome this aggressive expansion:

Having just picked up 4 new scripted series, ABC Family is heading into the summer with its largest ever slate of originals. With 7 scripted series on tap - 4 new: dramas Switched at Birth, The Nine Lives of Chloe King, The Lying Game and comedy The Great State of Georgia, and 3 returning: dramas The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Pretty Little Liars and comedy Melissa & Joey, ABC Family is opening up a third night of original programming this summer on Wednesday. Having for the first time a pair of half-hour comedies, Mellisa & Joey and The Great State of Georgia, ABC Family will launch a comedy block on Wednesday with the two sitcoms on June 29.

Secret Life, which returns on March 28 with 24 new episodes, will serve as a launching pad for newbies Switched at Birth (premieres June 6) and The Lying Game (debuts Aug. 15). Chloe King will follow Pretty Little Liars on Tuesday starting June 14.
