I decided to go back to college to complete my honors degree fairly late this year so my grant application only came through 2 weeks ago. Since applying for it my wife lost her job and when I mentioned this to the lady in the grant office she said to bring in my wife's p45 as it may affect my grant in that I might be entitled to a full grant due to a long term change of circumstances. The only problem is that my wife also got an unexpected redundancy payment so I am wondering if i go back now with the p45 will this sum be taken into account and it may push me over the limit for being entitled to a grant at all.

You have you bring in P45, they divide the redundancy payment by the no of years of employment. It all depends on how big the lump sum was. Even if you are refused you can reapply next year.

    Good luck

I have my grant already but the lady said I might b entitled to an increase to the full grant due to my wife being made redundant. I just dont want to loose the grant I have been awarded by going over the limit however the increase in grant would really help out. This is my final year so there is no next year.
