    Hey guys,

just wondering if anyone knows anything about volunteering in Buddhist monasteries? I'm planning on moving to S.Korea in the near future to teach english. After spending some time doing that (and possibly some time travelling) I would like to spend time in a Buddhist monastery.

Does anyone know how I could go about doing this? Would it be possible to simply approach a monastery and offer myself as a volunteer? Are there monasteries where english speaking people generally go? Is is possible to train in a monastery for just a couple of years?

    Again, thanks in advance guys.

I know that one's a bit old but you can give it a try
At the least these guys can tell you what's required. I'd recommend emailing them and asking in general even if you don't end up at these specific places.

    Good luck
