Renting a car. Under 25

    Hey All,

    I need to rent a car for 3 days in Dublin while my own gets fixed. Had a look around and Hertz seemed to be the cheapest but when I phoned the man on the other end told me that they only rent cars to people over 25 and unfortunately, I'm only 23.

    Does anybody know if I can rent a car in Dublin and if so, where?

    Would there be an extra charge maybe for a younger person??

    My girlfriend is over 25 but I don't want to take the risk of getting her to rent for me...

    As always, any help would be hugely appreciated.

    Enterprise will rent to you. The rate will be a little higher than their 25+ rate, but not by too much I'd say.

    Edit: Just looked. 10 euro per day under 25 fee. Class A and B vehicles only

    whats the renting age in other countries? is it 25 regardless?

    Usually 25 is age for the base rate.

    In US & Canada, most companies will give you a compact if you're 21, at a higher rate.

    I seem to recall the minimum age being 21 in Spain too, but I didn't experience this personally - there was a story in the press years ago about Jenson Button being refused a rental because he was only 20 at the time!
