    Hi Guys,

Basically i want to put down some grass seed out the back but i need some help and advice about preparing the soil first. At the moment there is some weeds and wild grass which im guessing will have to be sprayed with some sort of chemical and the soil is quit hard and needs to be levelled.

Im guessing around about now is the best time to start and get the seed down for the summer. Any tips and advice greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

Hiya there must be a couple of dozen threads in here on soil preperation and lawn sowing/laying. This is an information packed site and has already listed in some detail how to prepare and lay/sow a lawn.

Preperation is absolutely the most important thing when laying or sowing a lawn. It will be there being jumped on, walked on, played on, cursed for growing too much but usually never given a second thought until it begins to look a bit ill.

So prepare and maintain yearly for a trouble free plant that takes all kinds of abuse.

Anything you need clarification on stick it up here and someone will be able to advise further.

    Good luck
