... I am sorry I didn't read through some posts on boards.ie and check what the global perception is on cd-wow ...

Well, all I can say is : wow, they are just ... pathetic ...

To cut a long story short : order placed on 21/01/11. Nothing received after 21 days (time lapse you have to wait according to their website), so I contacted them. The package had indeed been with the courier but they didn't have a phone number, so they'd sent it back to base rather than trying to track me down through the post office, or sending me a note by post to tell me about it ... (it doesn't say much about the caliber of their shipping partner).
Only once it was received back was it re-shipped (01/03/11). When I requested the tracking number + transport company, I was given the tracking number but not the courier name ... arghhh .... what use it is to me ?!?!
Now, the delivery has just taken place ... after 6 weeks and a lot of patience.

CD-Wow have been prompt in replying to my queries, however the content of their replies is just proof on their inadequacies.
As far as the courier (Fastway Couriers) is concerned ... they just are too busy to track their customers down if the address doesn't include a street name/postcode - I'm not even going there - I live in the country but not in a desert !!! ...

Rant over - Now that I got it off my chest, I don't need to go shopping for a punchbag !! :)

    Thanks - V :)

So you live in the country and you expect a courier to know which house is yours..and if they don't know you expect them to send you a note in the post?
Do private couriers normally go to a small village post office and ask where such and such lives?

Personally I think cdwow are fantastic, even though I don't use them often.

A courier is paid to deliver. If they can't deliver, or find out where the recipient is, then they shouldn't be in the business of delivering.

CDWow have gone to the dogs over the last number of years. I will never use them again, nor would I recommend them to anyone. In fact, I'd warn people away from them these days.

why the courier didn't have your phone number?? it is a little troublesome for them to find you without the number

After the 1st failed delivery attempt, I went back into my cd-wow account. There was no phone number where there should have been. Not sure what happened then. The only thing I can think about is that, at the registration stage, the page was refreshed and I omitted to enter it again (the field is not compulsory - it should be really). :(

Still, the whole process should not have been so delayed and complicated.

    V :)
