Watch your local councils for co-option

    With our system a lot of councillors elected as TD's are allowed to appoint, or co-opt people to their vacated seats.

    Already in Kerry we see that JHR may be sent to fill juniors seat, not so long ago we saw SF's Ferris family appoint Teresa to fill dads seat on his election.
    It will be intresting to see what the Spring family do.

    Also of interest are the two MEP seats to be filled, so people in Dublin and Munster will be represented in the EU parliament by people never elected.

    Actually, we already know how the MEP seats will be filled. On election, each MEP submits an ordered list of party members who can replace them if needed. I think it's in some other boards thread.
