Venetian Blinds - Where?

    Hey Folks,

I'm hoping you can help me out with some advice. The missus and I moved into a house on Friday. We were going to go with some venetian blinds from IKEA but after measuring the window frames IKEA don't do any blinds big enough for our windows.

So where else can you get them? Are they something you have to have made to suit the dimensions of your windows? Where can I get them in and around the Dublin region and would you also know if they are expensive?

I'm sorry for my lack of knowledge. We've just bought our first house and I'm afraid we've never had to deal with stuff like this before- so it's all new to us.

i think you are better getting them made.

i got all mine made, as all my windows were different non-standard sizes.

i think it cost about 200e for 6 windows (it was 6 years ago) - i got mine at BG blind on north fredrick street, dublin 1. have to say i couldnt fault them

Hmnn I rang and got two quotes today. For six windows and a patio door + window and installation it came to:

    1st Quote - €700
    2nd Quote - €618

A colleague also got his whole house fitted out for €200 so the figures above seem quite expensive.

I doubt the figure for 200 spots includes the fitting?

200 euro for 6 windows sounds too cheap going by what we paid online there for 4 windows. I put them up myself.

i have to say mine included fitting.

i suppose it depends on the size of the windows. i would think a patio door blind would be a lot more expensive
