After a degree

Hi all, am just coming to the end of my law degree and am contemplating what to do next. Basically am making an appeal for any kind of advice on what to do with my degree! Few questions
    - Would it be better to do a Masters or go straight into doing the FE1s and getting a trainee contract? Id prefer to do whichever would increase my chances of getting a job, is a masters worth it or a waste of time?
    - Would anyone mind sharing their experience of doing a masters in UCC/Trinity/UCD? Im interested in Commercial, Criminal, IT and The General Masters, so any info would be really helpful to help me narrow down my choices. Just workload, hours, whether you found it was interesting etc.
    - Just any advice in general or any other options available would be great too! Pretty lost at the moment!

If you want to get a job do a course in computers or electronics.

I did the LLM Commercial at UCD last year. The administration was a farce to begin with because they increased the numbers but not the infrastructure which meant people couldn't get onto modules that they wanted. However, they sorted that and it was a very good year. Lots of interesting modules and the end product of a thesis can be quite satisfying.

Plenty of people manage to do their FE1s while they do the Masters.

I'd do a masters and FE-1's at the same time if you were certain of the solicitor route.

It's hard enough to get training contracts and masters help to an unknown degree (I have no idea how firm HR depts come to their decision).

Thanks for the replies! I was actually looking at Commercial as my main choice for UCD so that helped a lot. And unfortunately I think I might be too far gone to switch to computers now bath handle but thanks anyway. I dont know how able Id be for a master and fe1s at the same time, I heard the FE1s are meant to be hard enough!

FE1s aren't too bad... people over egg their difficulty. You just need to make sure you do a bit of regular work for them and try as many past papers as you can.
