    Hmm..where to start?

I approach the firing range at LAC and look at the chap beside me with his Magpul PTS Masada and he's reaching the wall at the end of it with his bb's.
I loosen off a few shots of the MP5 and they practically land beside his, give or take a few feet.
I can hear the dejection in his voice when he says "they're reaching the same distance as mine, and there's at least a 100mm in barrel lengths between the two guns.
That alone will tell you how awesome this gun is. The fact that out of the box with no upgrades it's already matching other AEGs out there with longer barrels and more impressively a Magpul PTS Masada.
Now I was shooting .2g bb so not sure what he was firing but I know even for .2g not many guns reach the end wall at LAC.

Paid €279 for the MP5 and this is Classic Army's Proline version meaning it's their top of the range one.
They obviously come in different flavours such as the A3 (with flashlight) plus the SD5/6 (silenced version- thehorse has one, the SD5 is again the wide forearm and the SD6 is the extendable stock.
I plumped for the A2 since it was the only one in stock :)

You get 2 flashhides with it..one big and one tiny tiny one :)

A problem for lefties- Your fingers are too close to the selector and I often switched from auto to semi. It's not an ambidexterous gun. Specifically set up for right-handed users. To use a sling you'd have to use a wraparound on the stock if you were left-handed.

Battery goes into forearm. Very easy to slip off the buttpad..just put down and it comes off. Big enough for a 9.6v battery inside although I only ran a 7.4v 20c lipo inside. Be aware it takes the large connector type.

    Summary

Very impressed by this gun and was glad I took thehorse's advice as he already has the MP5SD6 version.
I used this at LAC yesterday in the CQB area and found my game approach changed differently in that since it's so much compacter than my M4, I was a lot more mobile and since it matches the range of other AEGs I was a lot more aggressive in taking on targets and using the extra mobility to get closer to them.
It was definitely the best day I had at LAC in a long time and I was sorry I had to cut it short at a half day as I was more than happy to stay out longer.
If you're thinking about getting a CQB weapon and considering a MP5 I'd highly recommend one of these.
And if you're at LAC sometime I might even let you use it for a game if you're thinking of buying :)

As regards internals I think they're using a TM EG1000 motor , barrel length is 229mm long.
If you need any more info let me know and I'll root it out for you.

Its a great aeg i have the built in flash light version. When i am back in LAC i shall bring it. I fitted a tight bore barrel into mine and the range is silly.

I have the CA mp5sd6 version and the lads who come to LAC have seen its rate of fire and range. Its a superb gun. Of the guns I have, I use it the most and it has given me the least problems. I love it and when people use it, they wanna buy it off me

well kitten...both of us know that it's not ;)
it's just to give the gucci lads an idea of how good this gun is..
I like magpul as much as the next lad/girl but paying €550 for an AEG which I still have to upgrade is taking the piss..
I love my G+P M4 and it will always be my favourite..

I've owned two of these B&T MP5s and the only compliant I have is the quality of CA's gears :( In both guns the bevel and spur gear stripped within 3000 rounds... Otherwise they are beasts, just about finished a project using the one I picked up off Carentan Killer.
