A Small Problem

    Hi,

Basically my brother is good friends with a guy I fancy. I get along with this guy pretty well but I am unsure if he does fancy me. He isn't my normal type at all but I like, guess im trying to change my type on men as I have been going for some bad types.

I was out with the both of them last week and I noticed the guy kept looking at me no matter what area of the bar we were in. So I kind of got that he does fancy me but is probably thinking, no thats my friends sister.

My problem is, is it bad to go after a friend of your brothers?
Im turning 21 in 3 weeks and this guy is turning 24 in 3 weeks also so age isn't a problem.
I just dont want to be going after someone and developing stronger feelings for someone if its a no go zone!

Another problem is he is out of a serious relationship of 4 or 5 years. I dont know anything about that relationship so I wouldn't know if they ended badly or what not but he seems to be doing well single and enjoying himself. I am myself just out of a very serious relationship but I am moving on.

Just reading this it all sounds hopeless but I would love some thoughts on it?

Most people meet people through other people :) this is no different really. Don't overthink it tho, flirt with the guy a little bit and see how you go.

Yeah I wouldn't worry about the guy being friends with your brother? Do you think your brother would mind??
If it was me, and one of my friends was going out with my sister I'd be delighted, atleast I'd know the guy is a decent bloke, although its your choice anyway so go for it if thats what you want!!!

A lot of relationships (if not most) kick off from meeting someone through friends or family, so there is nothing wrong with you wanting to have some form of relationship with him (your brother may not be too keen of course :P).

Now as someone who did come out of a 5 year relationship last summer, I'd best advise you wait a few weeks before actually going into a relationship with him. Dating, seeing eachother, and generally hanging out is a good idea, just don't rush it in case you end up as a rebound.

    Hey guys, thanks :)

Yeah I think that I dont know how my brother would feel about it so that has got me a little udge about it! I also really wouldnt know how to bring it up?

Ye he is out of his relationship now since last November(same as myself), think thats too soon?

Ill just stick to flirting with him when I see him and see how that goes, don't know when ill see him next though!

I'd ask the brother what he thinks. If he's not keen then chances are his mate won't want to get involved.

Go for it, all he can do is say no :)

I would just ask your brother if he is ok with it or even keep hinting and asking about his friend so he gets the hint(which he may not)?

I'd just let it go OP. There's plenty of other guys out there that aren't your brothers friend. I was in a relationship with a girl that was friends with my sister. It was a disaster..they no longer speak and I had to put up with my g/f moaning about my sister and just being a catty b!tch

Be no harm in asking your brother but if my sister (who i dont really get on with) fancied one of my mates, i think i would be against it TBH, having her tagging along on nights out etc, she would wreck my head

Well myself and my brother get along very well, we often go out and about together with friends and would consider ourselves friends.

But yes that and what Wompa said is what I would be afraid of, I dont want to ruin there friendship or ruin his nights out etc.

Guess Ill have a little think about it and see how it goes when I see him next. Just seems such a waste to finally meet a truly lovely person and its a no go :(

Plenty more men out there, just gonna snatch a lovely one.
