Hi basically Im looking for broadband that you get through the usb stick like with 02, meteor and so on. But they seem to have limited date usage like 15gb data, and with my college work and need for internet, its too little. Is there any other usb style broadband I can get that would have unlimited usage,

any advice appreciated, Im not a computer tech whizz at all, lol. :D

    15gb for €15 a month @ 3MB

but sure,y if you're only using it for college you wont need more then 5-10 gig

reverenddave, can you explain it a little bit to me, Im useless at this stuff. what does data limit mean, is that data I download such as films, music or my internet usage in general, like email, facebook ect. as I would spend hours on internet per every day due college work, I feel 15gb a month would have me going way over

an average movie is 0.7GB or 700MB
and your limit is 15GB or 19movies ish

normal internet usage such as email and facebook and stuff you would never go over your limit unless you're on it literally 24/7

just stay away from youtube and dont download movies and you'll be grand

You can't get Broadband on USB stick from eircom/meteor, O2, Vodafone or Three. Only Mobile Internet.

A Movie in decent SD quality is 2G to 4G and in HD is 4G to 8G. Only personal Media player quality is the smaller sizes.

Everything you do online amounts to data usage, not just things you specifically download or save to the computer. Every page, VOIP conversation, webtext, etc, will use something.

Get a bandwidth monitor to keep an eye on your usage stats. Google for one, or try out DUMeter (not free, but has a trial).

    Irisheyes, read this thread.

O2 comes with it's own bandwidth monitor, I'd imagine 3 have their own one aswell. Check anyway.
