You can get the same knife with a lanyard ring on Amazon, it's called the Pioneer, and Wenger also make the Swiss Army Soldier model.

I know about the Pioneer and Wenger Soldier, but I really want the "proper" one if you know what I mean?

In that case, eBay's your best bet. They're still cheap enough, although some people are looking for crazy money for them.

I can't seem to find a single knife on ebay.ie. I have to go to ebay.com to find them, but eBay won't allow sellers to ship outside of North America. I've sent a message to a guy who will sell me one whenever he gets another (outside of eBay) but that's assuming he will get one soon. Any other places?

Here's one on eBay that says he posts to Europe. I've bought a load of sharps on eBay from the States; they don't have any policy banning that.

I remember trying to bid, and once I clicked confirm bid it wouldn't let me. Maybe they removed it :D

EDIT: I just bid on it, went through fine :D

EDIT 2: Tried to bid on a Victorinox Cadet (The coloured ones are discontinued so I want one of those too :P)

    Dear Buyer

To prevent the circumvention of the eBay.co.uk and eBay.ie Weapon and Knives policy, it is not possible for you to bid on, or buy this item.

    Thank you for your understanding.

Oh, wow. That's a pain in the bollocks! eBay US was always a great place to get bargains on sharps.

Okay in the end, I managed to get one off eBay. The trick is, if it says Victorinox Soldier, forget about it, you will pay through the roof! If it says something like "swiss army knife victorinox", you're sorted. I just got a Soldier from 1998 for €10 + €7 shipping!

    Also the reason behind this:

[Mods this isn't illegal, I think]

You have to find a seller that doen't ship to Europe. Basically find someone who ships to America, ask them how much it would cost to ship to Ireland. Bid on their item (It will work in this case) and put in the shipping price they gave you. Perfect!

Ah, knives :). Nice to see others like pocket knives too. Nice knife. I love my one. Much better in the pocket for everyday stuff than the new version. New one probably better in the great outdoors with locking blade and saw etc..
You could probably get that engraving polished out. Find someone with a bench grinder and polishing wheel. Unless it's exceptionally deep, it shouldn't be a problem.
