NUIM Literary Journal

    Hey

    For the past few years the Literary and Debating Society have brought out a literary journal which showcases poetry and prose by our members and other students in the college. The journal is launched at the end of the year and sold around campus. We are currently looking for submissions for the 2011 edition.
    We welcome poetry, short stories, short plays etc plus book reviews and other articles on cultural affairs. The submission deadline is Wednesday 23rd March and the aim is to have the journal on sale by the end of April. We are also looking for artwork for the cover; if we have a number of art submissions we will choose the best for the cover and publish the runners up in the journal. Artworks need not be literary themed and can be photography, paintings, drawings etc. The only stipulation is that they work in black and white. The literary submissions can also be on any theme and will be published once they are not offensive or libellous and are under 2000 words. Individuals may submit multiple works. There will be a prize for the best submission in each category. So please send your submissions to LnDLiteraryJournal@gmail.com by 23rd March 2011. Get writing and/or drawing!

    Just a quick reminder that the deadline for submitting stuff to the journal is tonight at midnight so if you have something to submit, don't forget!We've got some great submissions already so its looking to be a really good journal this year.

    Any idea when people will be informed if they're stuff is gonna be published in the journal or not? :)

    Hey Seriousfizz,

    We will be reading all the entries next week so we should be able to let people know the week after that. The aim is to launch the journal the week after the Easter break.

    Just to let everyone know: the deadline for submissions has been extended to Monday 28th March at midnight so if you missed the first deadline you can still submit something. We are particularly looking for poetry at this stage. We also are looking for more artwork/photography for the journal and for something for the cover so you have something you think might work please submit it. The only stipulation is that it works in black and white -although if you have something exceptional for the cover we will consider it even in colour.
