Hi All, My boyfriend is in Oz working at the moment and has just been sponsored, My daughter and I are planning to go on his sponsorship aswel, Just wondering if we apply for sponsorship, does this mean we can not travel to Australia until a decision has been made? We are planning to go for a holiday first, but someone has told me that I cannot enter the country if I have an application pending for de facto sponsorship, Does anyone know if this is true?

I would phone DIAC on that one, if your BF is sponsored on a 457 that can be a onshore or offshore but not sure about dependents.

Sometimes a holiday visa comes with a 8503 condition which means 'no further stay' for the dependent visa to be granted you might have to go offshore, maybe this is where there is confusion.
