The beginning of the end is at hand, the last ten episodes of Universe start tomrrow/Tuesday and from the looks of thingd that'll be it, no more Stargate for the foreseeable future.

When we last left destiny it had tracked a signal to an old graveyard where they took damage from some drone ships before being rescued by Indian Guy and the Ursini. Then, when trying to escape they were tricked by the Ursini into jumping into a battle with the drone ship commander. Blue girl breaks out of her confinement and manages to do something with the computer (possibly send a signal alerting the blue aliens to their location). Final scene is on the bridge with weapons and shields failing and no communications from the seed ship.

I voted the last option. #WINNING

3 votes already for the last option. Does this mean you're not gonna watch the episode at all?
Since the series definitely is cancelled I'm still holding out hope that they'll all get killed at the end, it'd be something we haven't seen in a stargate series yet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,091 ✭✭✭Antar Bolaeisk

They're not going to be killed off, there will be no closure, it'll just be left hanging.

WTF? Even the ****ing teaser was BORING! Fixing a conduit is now worthy material to entice people to watch the show????

Same thought crossed my mind. Comes across like SyFy are kicking the show even when it's down.

I dont think I found the show boring but the pacing was a disaster but thats commonly interpreted as the show being boring, I thought it was some joke with that trailer about "ha ha look we are poking fun at it being boring" and was waiting for the punchline but it never came?

No i'll watch it, to break each episode down and explain to the crazed loonies just WHY the show was axed, also....i've decided to quote ratings for the new eps., to reaffirm the fact it's not coming back :P

And if you needed further proof SGU is dead............... http://www.deadline.com/2011/03/robert-carlyle-emma-bell-join-broadcast-pilots/#more-111725

If people want ratings they know how to search for them.

they even bumped it off its normal 9pm slot to 10pm, which means the re-run is at 12am, not 11pm

they wanted this show to fail from the start.

syfy can die in a fire, ill catch this through other means.

Unfortunately that episode was quite crap. They just can't match the whole "everything will end up fine" that sg1 and atlantis used to do. The space battles were crap too.

I was optimistic about it before it aired but it just didn't do anything for me.

And since when does a 3 second count down to FTL take 10 seconds! My god i'd fire her if I was in charge!

It was ok. I thought for a minute Rush was being nice in this episode, glad he just wanted to get the two losers out of the way :D

hmmmm woulda liked to see the ships actually getting destroyed insteada people just talking about it. And the chloe story is just annoying y didnt they just murder her?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,091 ✭✭✭Antar Bolaeisk

It wasn't too bad but it wasn't exactly good either. Too much weight was put on whiney girl, especially since I was gunning for Token Black Guy to shoot her at the start and I really couldn't have cared less if the blue guys left with her. The second hald of the show was decent enough even though it was almost completely bereft of tension. Of course herein lies the problem of putting Destiny into a pitched battle, we know Universe has another nine episodes so clearly the ship will survive.

I like it, but if destiny had ftl drive but no shields, why didnt they dock with the ursini, have them piggy back and extend the shields. They mentioned it, but didnt seem to look any further into it.

like how when Anubis blew up earth's stargate, and it would have destroyed the planet, so they hurled it into hyperspace; and then the atlantis gate overloaded similarly only taking out some glass windows, interior decor, and despite a massive fireball engulfing the entire place, Shepherd survives by ducking behind a desk?

    Yeah. Good times.

    Yeah. Good times.

Ya but all of that was consistent with the tone of the shows though. Everything working out well is not what you expect in Universe and it's almost annoying when everything conveniently works out.

    1.03 million.
Obviously not great but not too bad for a cancelled show just coming off a 3 month break in a different, later timeslot.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,091 ✭✭✭Antar Bolaeisk

    The poll results are amusing.

I regretfully had to vote Booooring. I love the show but that just didn't feel like the show I love. Very formulaic.
Only 9 shows left now, and I'm already sad. Lets get back to the bloody Stargate for these 9 episodes. Space battles just don't do it for me in Stargate.

That overly long and puke inducing chat between Scot and Chloe before she went into the ship ruined the whole episode for me.
Just far far too much soppy ****e in SGU.

Really enjoyed it but in a very odd stupid way...

I really like SGU but was dissapointed in this ep. Seemed that they fell back to the old trap of wrapping everything up with a nice happy ending ie. the same old format as SG1.

Also it seemed a little rushed but this could be because the show is now cancelled and they have to start wrapping up story lines.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,924 ✭✭✭✭RolandIRL

I think that uncyclopedia page of SGU is getting more true...they're talking about their feelings too much >_<

    pretty meh episode overall.

I've watched more exciting paint dry... I'm only watching now to remember why they shítcanned this garbage.

Apparently they haven't made any modifications to the storyline. This season 2 is the same season 2 we would have got had there been a season 3.

Wow!...has to be the weirdest poll ever!....very mixed opinions, i voted the last option....for a laugh, but since i've now seen the ep. i'd vote it pretty good!....i actually really enjoyed that episode, good action, didn't find it boring. Everyone got some screentime.

But they rebooted Chloe back to normal, huh?....wht the HELL is she gonna do for 9 episodes now?, swoon after Matt and look all pouty lipped abd gloomy?
Some decent battles, main weapon looked cool but a little underpowered!, was expecting one shot to take out that command vessel.

    So yeah, i enjoyed that!

Very contrived episode TBH. Why the fcuk do they keep trying to save one person?

I enjoyed it, but mostly because it's stargate than anything else. 3/5. (first time i've rated any episode less than 4!)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,780 ✭✭✭JohnK

Quite the boring episode I thought. In fact, they could have made things a bit more interesting if they'd have taken some of those drones on board and used them for defensive purposes in later episodes.

    Yeah. Good times.

In Atlantis did they not collapse the city shield to cover just the stargate and thats what saved them?
