Fixing N00btubez for MW3

Ok I think I know a way Raven Software and IW can make good noobtubes!

Ok you know how in MW2 you got these attachments for say an ACR you get kills for attachments

    -10 = Grenade Launcher

    -25 = RDS

    -75 = Silencer

    -150 = ACOG

    -300 = FMJ

and then you unlock more by using other attachments

well Black Ops has noobtubes you get from the start which are nerfed and unreliable but also for some reason can pull of triple kills easily, here is my idea, If IW choose not to use CoD Points ( please god dont make them use that stupid system) they should do this

    -10 = RDS

    -25 = ACOG

    -75 = Silencer

    -150 = FMJ

    -300 = Grenade Launcher

Now I know I left out stuff but I think 300 kills for a grenade launcher with MW2 power is fair, they wont be around as much and will force people to use guns more often than use noobtubes, there will come a point in the game where they will be present but then prestige will keep cutting down the numbers..

The noobs will get the 300 kills for their 800 Deaths.

Thats a good system execept they could just get rid of them

Or they could just keep them like they are in black ops.... whats wrong with that ? i've barely heard any complaints about them, for or against. I think its one thing that almost everyone will agree that treyarch got right.

two hit kills, or only one tube per gun, scavenger doesnt replenish it, and SOH doesnt reload the tube any faster.

or every time you kill someone with a tube, you lose 100xp, and if you do it more than twice in a match, its 500xp per kill after that, that'll learn em :D

but have you ever had a problem with noobtubes in MW1, no one complained about them and they had decent damage.

you didnt need them with the frag grenades, those things with like mini nukes, ridiculous range and damage

    well how about this

    MW3= MW1 Noobtubes + MW2 Greandes

    problem solved

Or how about Black ops frags and black ops tubes because they are the best imo.

I mean why you'd even want them to be more powerful than how they are in blops just leads me to believe that you were a OMA/DC abuser :D

Its just I liked them in MW2 without danger close or OMA, using ACR Stopping power noobtube was pretty useful, if that was the same with no resupply to it it would be great, and its just I hate wasting 3000 cod points on a noobtube that doesnt kill, and frags I agree with, just off topic Magill, ever notice the frag grenade indicator sucks in Black ops?

PS I only used it when I was dangerclosed, I would watch killcam then see if it was dangerclsoe, if not I just shrug it off, If it was dangerclose I return mininukes and then get Tactical Nuke =D

    :) thought you were a closet toober ! :D

I really dont think IW will make the same mistake twice with regards to tubes tho.

All they had to do was buff Blast shield in mw2 and it would have been much more playable. As long as they include Flak Jacket as either equipment or a perk in MW3 and have black ops damage.

Its going to be a future weapon. Nuke launcher rifle attachments.

flak jacket is great doesnt inhibit you in anyway other than taking up a possibly useful perk slot . blast shield restricted view turned off radar and wasnt effective against danger close tubes . so i hope they dont bother bringing that back in .

id agree with Ghosts first idea though if you want to keep progressing through prestiges (which most people do) you keep losing out on what was a hard earned noob tube . so limits the amount of time you had them for .

i wouldnt however agree with penilising a player for using them if your going to do that then remove them altogether but they can be usefull for clearing objectives/campers. its the players that spam them that are the problem . so limit there access to not only kills but ranks as well

I know what you mean regarding XP penalties - though in any balanced perk system you've got to have a penalty for choosing something over something else. Losing Perk 1 in COD4 was the right choice I think, I was shocked this wasn't carried into MW2 - if it had been there would be much less of an OMA problem.

Under the MW2 system I have wished that after you unlock an upgrade for an attachment that it fully replaces the original - so if you unlock holographic you don't have the choice of red-dot, and if you unlock masterkey hey presto no more noob tubes on that gun until you prestige.

Another of my gripes would be that scavenger should only restock what the dead guy had - so if you pick the corpse of a guy with a submachine gun, no tubes for you, and if you kill a guy who had flash bangs you can't transubstantiate them into smoke grenades. You can't be picky if you're a grave robber.

They should just scrap guns all together and we can run around throwing flowers and tickling each other.

or there could just be guns that do what they were designed to do and not just constantly idiots trying to take advantage of any exploits to get cheap kills.

How about they bring out something like a flak jacket just so people will stop moaning... Oh wait.

ok you actually made me re-think that a little . i dont agree with a system where the use of an item will actively remove points from your current score or your over all rank .

Your right about modern warfare one though a system where you miss out on one thing by having another thing works pretty well . black ops had a touch of it by only allowing you a single undergun attachment so you couldnt combine a tube or a flamethrower with say extended mags or a grip . but again like in mw1 they didnt quite go far enough .

id say a system where your given one grenade per tube , you cant pick up or replenish it in anyway , and theres a delay after your spawn where you cant use it . this means you cant fire die and fire again constantly bombarding random parts of the maps with grenades .

added to this is a nice little timer similar to frag grenades where once there equiped you only have a certain amount of time until it launchs(or even better explodes in your gun :D)

ever play hardcore S&D on cod4? noobtubes were a plague there.

ive always wanted them to get rid of noobtubes they bring nothing to the game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,207 ✭✭✭hightower1

Just get rid of them, sure they are usefull for clearing campers but so are nades + shotguns. The benefits of getting rid of them far outweigh the costs of keeping them in. It should be a no brainer for MW3.

    ...........

Makes you wonder though how activision would react to the decision seeing as the little kids using tubes may be turned off buying the game if they get rid. They dont care about gameplay , only sales numbers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,411 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

tbh I was getting murdered recently. Bought the GL and put it on the Gallil. No more stress :)

I don't use it really but anyone who thinks it ain't effective on black ops is delusional

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,599 ✭✭✭✭Liam O

I've made a class for them now, they're great when you come up against a team of ghosts and I'm using them without shame as a counter measure for that.

COD4 yet again had it spot on. Grenade launchers should be a perk, though personally, I think they are fine in BOPS and it's very rare to see one or be killed by one. I say I've been killed by a dozen or so in 13 prestiges.

I used it for a good few ranks ages ago when playing Dom when on my win streak. Very good for defending B especially when playing with headless non objective, K/D whore randomers.

Ok, may I throw out a suggestion for the tuning of the tubes?
They are designed to deal with campers and multiple targets, and they do this by killing them straight away. My suggestion is that instead that the blast kill radius be dropped and that second radius of shell-shock (same as when hit by nearby mortars) bigger than the current kill radius. It would mean that the tubes would be more of a teamwork attachment, crippling the enemy and having a team mate finish the job.

So in short you'd camp out a flag point with a noob tube hovering static over it just waiting for someone to actually play the objective while you get the "skill shot" of pressing right trigger?

..... I no longer play COD cause of antics like that and MW3 will be very short lives on my shelf if it continues to be a viable "gameplay style" going forward.

Or how about as he (and alot of us use it) when we're capturing/defending a flag or bomb site we equip it and kill the 2 guys that are camping prone with ghost/silencer/motion sensor in the corner.

Tbh i like what black ops have done, for every thing there seems to be a counter
    Tubes,nadesetc ---- Flak Jacket
    Napalm--- Flak jacket pro
    Air support
    sam turret
    Nova gas--- face mask thing

So all it boils down to is, if you dont like something use its counter, then all your left with is guns.

Hmmm saw one of Ade's videos yesterday. Domination 57-1. Ran around the map the whole game and as good as anything I've seen on Machima/youtube.

    Nah.

In fairness, I camped my ass of for a min or so. Tea was getting cold. Priorties heh :pac:

Tbh, I prefer my Mac 10 gameplay on Jungle compared to the 57-1 game. Using Ghost taints it somewhat... at least it does for me. But sure, I had to give it a try with a strella sooner or later. If I using my usual set up(ie: Scavenger or Hardline and 3-4-8 killstreaks), it's a 30-5, maybe 40-5 game.

    Lol.

If the lads I play with from here want to defend me or not, it's up to them. While I appreciate it, I haven't told anyone to defend me. There's no real hiding place with the combat record/some of my gameplay being on display on Youtube and on boards. I honestly don't think I have used a grenade launcher class since around 8th prestige when I used it on a FAL for a couple of games.

The crux of it is that I didn't feel like having to justify myself to such silliness(it was really random I thought)... something I wasn't expecting from X poster truth be told. I honestly got a good laugh out of it anyway :)
