Moving flat - van rental?

    I'm moving to a new flat on the 12th of March. I was planning on renting a car van (eg Berlingo) to move my stuff but it looks like it won't be possible to rent a car for one day on a Saturday. It seems that everywhere is open 9:00 - 12:00 on a Saturday and can't accommodate a one day rental.

    Has anyone done this before? Could anyone suggest a way around this? I really wanted a car as opposed to a man-with-a-van so I could go to IKEA and pick up a new TV :)

    Have you had a look at www.whipcar.com ?

    haven't used them myself but was reading about this recently

    Thanks. That looked promising but it's currently only available to UK licence holders.
