Purchased a Dell XPS 17 just over a month ago for ~€1500. I just find it too big to carry around as I don't drive.

    Quad Core i7 740-QM 1.73Ghz - 2.93Ghz Turboboost
    8GB DDR3 RAM
    NVIDIA GT 445M 3GB
    2x 500GB 7200 RPM drives - 1TB total.
    Bluray Reader/DVD-RW
    1600x900 Display
    720p Skype HD Certified Webcam
    JBL Stereo Speakers and Subwoofer
    9 Cell Battery

There is still 35 months left on the 3 Year Next Day In Home Warranty with Dell which can be easily transferred. I have the original box etc, and it's in pristine, unused condition (Only used a couple of times)

    Thanks.

the problem with computers these days is that they simply dont hold value.

and the secondhand market is worse ...people will only pay if they are getting a bargain, so my opinion is that at best you could get €500-700 (if you are lucky)

Well the same laptop, similarly spec'd from Dell right now is ~€1500, albeit with Sandy Bridge.

As photo says 700 would be a good price to get for it.

    same laptop = new

    your laptop = old

people do not want to pay anywhere near the actual price of a new item for a secondhand one, and people do not have money to spend on luxuries like laptops - most people get the cheapest option available instead of the best option for them.

Are you looking to offload it?

To be honest, and based on what you have read here so far, you can see you'll take a sizeable enough hit on it if you do offload it.
