Im 32 and have a decent job which im permanent in for the past 3 years, i earn 40k and I also get a bonus of 8% of my yearly salary every year and I get full VHI cover paid by the company also.

My Job isnt bad, I work in a QC lab for a major pharma company, there are good and bad days, what im really down about though is the routine, all my friends are settled down and im single and I dont have many friends any more and I just find my life boring, I have never been traveling or anything.

I was wondering if I would have a better lifestyle in the long term abraod in Canada or Australia,At 32 It would be hard to give up a good job in this current climate but at the same time I have no dependents

I would just like some advice, perhaps there are people here feeling the same?

Well the first thing you should do is check if your job/qualifications is one of those in demand that will get you a visa into Canada or Australia?

2nd thing to check is if your employer has bases in those countries to see if you can transfer internally? If you can then you will have a job sorted straight away.

If you have no dependants and if it is something you want to try then go for it, the only people I know who have done this have actually been married and went together but they are prospering in their prospective new countries. Have any of your friends or relatives gone over already?

    Vancouver isn't known for jobs.
I think it's mainly younger Irish people going to vancouver. any one with a focus on their career is going to toronto, or at least cities where there occupation is in demand.

What exactly is you motivation for leaving??? Where ever you go you are going to have to make new friends and it is a fact of live that at around 30 or so people start to settle down, raise families and so on, it's not going to be any different in other countries!

if you have never done any travel, then I'd suggest you take a few weeks off and go travel for a while. That way at least you have some idea of what it might be like to live abroad.

Large-ish I would say would be nothing like Toronto or Sydney anyway.
