    Or Malwarebytes anti-malware - best tool there is in most cases: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

    Seems you have some crap on your machine.

    +1 for malwarebytes.

    This should be running alongside anti-virus. I suggest Microsoft Security Essentials.

    Have you installed 7 Zip recently? I did and it created a new program folder for Getii. It does actually ask in the installer if you want to use it as your homepage. It didn't change mine however (I use Pale Moon).

    If you go into C:\Program Files, you should see the folder and you can just delete it and switch your homepage back.

    Yeah I had the same problem, this happened when I installed 7zip also. Just delete that folder and it should be fine. :)

    Eh, yeah. Malwarebytes, Spybot : Search and Destroy, Microsoft Sec. Essentials.

    But as mentioned it sounds like its from the install of 7 zip. Have you tried uninstalling it properly from Add/Remove programs from the control panel and not just tdeleting the folders?

    Also have you reset your browser to use Google?

    Well after you delete that stuff, you are still going to have to reset your homepage yourself. That was just to stop it grabbing your homepage again. Settings>Internet Options>homepage or something similar depending on your browser.

    You can leave the 7zip folders, there's nothing inherently wrong with it (apart from questionable software bundling). All you need to delete is the getii folder from Program Files. Then reset your homepage as mentioned. As annoying as it is, it's not really spyware or malware and there's no need for Malwarebytes etc. In This Case!

    C:\Program Files\Getii or something similar.

    I'm not sure what you're talking about. Who said anything about scripts or search engines?

    Have a read here:

    * http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=69723

    * http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/781905

    End of the day, I would run Malwayebytes tool, Hijackthis tool and MSE.
    Then I would delete the C:\Program Files\Getii folder.
    Then in the "search program and files" box (after clicking "Start" or Windows logo - bottom left) I would enter Msconfig (and hit return button) - go to the window that opens up & go to the start-up tab.
    Un-tick anything that refers to Getii and/or its location. Close window. Reboot.
    Double check that the homepage is now one that I wish for (if not, change it again). Close down your browser. Reboot and re-check again your browser.

    No worries, its sometimes the easiest option that slips past us as we are looking for the more complicated ones.
    Glad your sorted. :)
