repairing small indent

I have been asked to paint over a small mark in a car. it would need filler to make it right but i am told it is ok to have indent if it is sealed and painted. they do not mind the look as it is small and not much noticable but want colour right and protect from rust.

I am thinking primer to seal and then aerosol paint . Any advice.

I will get a pic of it later if needed

thanks, should have put it there, sorry
How do i upload a pic? does it have to be on a differnt site and linked?

    edit here it is

this says you need sealant and primer maybe lacquer.

Also would rubbing compound be any good? Is that the yellow stuff they use after filler?

    Anyone used JML scratch remover

Would you consider advising whoever asked you to do this to bring the car to someone who knows what they are doing? :) You don't seem overly confident.

If you use the search function, you'll see that in this very forum, not more than 2 weeks ago someone was asking about those kits, bought one, and it turned out to be a terrible job.

You need to stop what you're doing, and pursuade the owner to take it to a professional for repair. Not only will a home done repair look terrible (As you haven't done one before, and aren't sure what to use) - it will seriously devalue the vehicle too, AND make a repair more costly as they'll have to undo whatever you do before repairing the panel.
